Domestic Violence charges can have life-long consequences.
In California, domestic violence (sometimes referred to as ‘family violence’) includes physical, emotional, or verbal abuse against a spouse, cohabitant, partner, or family member, as defined under California Penal Code §13700(b). Threats, intimidation, and harassment can also lead to DV charges. These charges carry severe consequences, such as incarceration, restraining orders, mandatory batterer’s classes, community labor, and lasting harm to your reputation.
